Class Descriptions:
Prenatal Fitness:During each hour-long prenatal fitness class, you'll enjoy a full-body workout including a variety of exercises taken from yoga and Mat Pilates. There will also be a light cardio segment and strength maintenance.
Postnatal Pudge: Postnatal Pudge is a cardio-inspired class designed for weight loss after pregnancy. You'll be challenged in a different way each time you come to class, but you'll perform a cardio segment of at least 35 minutes. Class formats include: indoor cycling, running, step, circuit training, and other formats used to raise the heartrate and encourage calorie burn. Our postnatal fitness classes should be taken once you're comfortable with your routine as a new mommy and following or in conjunction with Mommy & Me classes.
Mommy & Me: Mommy and Me classes are the best way to begin strengthening, toning and losing weight after you deliver. This class allows you to bring your baby (up to 11 months) to class for a fun workout for all. We focus on regaining your core strength, cardiovascular training and improving your overall fitness level. These classes should be taken after you've been released to exercise by your OB/GYN or midwife. Babies in carseats and up to 11 months of age are welcome.
Prenatal/Postnatal Aqua
Fitness:When you are in the water,
like your baby inside the womb, you have an enhanced awareness of the
connection to your child. During pregnancy, swimming and water fitness classes
give you a welcome rest from the extra weight you are carrying, as well as an invigorating
feeling from buoyant movement.Swimming and water
exercises offer flexibility, strength, and endurance training through the
gentle resistance that movement in water provides. They're ideal forms of
exercise during pregnancy because you are exercising your heart and lungs
without risk to your joints; the water helps you regulate your temperature and
stay cool; and hydrostatic pressure provided by water helps reduce that
all-too-common swelling and fluid retention that many pregnant women experience.Class dates for Summer, 2010:6/24,7/8,7/22,8/5,8/19 at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club 6-7PM.
